  • Insertion:  tibia, fibula
  • Artery:  inferior gluteal artery, profunda femoris artery
  • Nerve:  sciatic nerve (tibial nerve and common fibular nerve)
  • Actions:  flexion of knee, extension of hip
  • Antagonist:  Rectus femoris muscle
