Château d’Esclans Whispering Angel rosé, 2023: Was £23.95, now £17.45, Perfectcellar.com
Of all the rosés out there, Whispering Angel is one of the most talked about – it’s even had singer Adele’s seal of approval. With notes of strawberries and cherries, it should pack quite a punch.

Diablo dark red: £8.77, save 25 per cent on a case of 6, Asda.com
This was the best red wine in our taste-tested review. Drinks expert Aidy Smith described it as “heaven in a bottle”, with “memorably deep” fruits that plunge you “into a pool of cherry, damson and blackberry before a kiss of mocha takes over, with vanilla and dark chocolate at the tail end”. If that all that sounds appealing, opt for a case of six and you’ll save 25 per cent on your order.
Iziza Exceptional Sites Swartland shiraz mourvedre grenache, 2023: Was £15.99, now £10.99, Virginwines.co.uk
Hailing from the Swartland region of South Africa, this full-bodied, vegan red wine is said to pair well with meaty dishes, such as pies, pizzas and roast lamb. Suitable for vegans too, it’s been described by the winemaker as boldly flavoured, with notes of berries and spice. You can save more than 30 per cent on a bottle with this Virgin Vines deal.
Zana Romania sauvignon blanc 2021: Was £9.50, now £8, Ocado.com
In his review of the best sauvignon blancs, our reviewer, wine expert John Clarke, named this his best value option. “Fresh citrus and gooseberry notes, along with a zesty acidity, make for an enlivening but elegant drink that’s perfect for a warm spring evening”, he said of the white vino. While this deal sees only a modest saving, there’s no denying £8 is a great price for a bottle that has John’s seal of approval.
Nice pale rosé: Was £9.50, now £7.50, Ocado.com
Here’s a small discount on a bottle of rosé from vegan drinks brand, Nice. Hailing from the South of France, this wine is described as a pale, dry, slightly strawberry rosé. Of course its trendy-looking bottle design is almost sure to get nods of approval from friends, which is a nice (sorry) bonus.
Waitrose is slashing the price of its own-label wine by a generous 20 per cent, so you can stock up on red, white and fizz for less. The line-up includes this bottle of Pinot Grigio, but if you prefer a red, you can save on bottles such as this pinot noir (was £7, now £5.50, Waitrosewinecellar.com). Described as having citrus fruit character with a nuttiness to it, this bottle of Waitrose Cava (was £7.99, now £6.39, Waitrosewinecellar.com) is also reduced at the minute.
Parcel Series Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2023, New Zealand: Was £25, now £12.50, Majestic.co.uk
Buy a case of six bottles of this New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and you’ll get the lot for half price. The grapes are grown in vineyards, where the soils are said to afford the wine fresh aromas of white peach, lemon, apple and mango. Described as youthful with a refreshing acidity, it’s recommended paired with salads or grilled chicken, which we think should make it a great accompaniment to a light alfresco lunch.
Taylor’s historical collection ‘the mallet’ reserve tawny port: Was £210, now £180, Majestic.co.uk
Attention, port fans. This deal on a bottle of tawny port saves you £60 when you buy six bottles of one of our favourites. In our review of the Taylor’s port, drinks writer John Clarke noted “a bountiful amount of dried fruit and walnut flavours, along with notes of caramel and plum, and hints of coffee and spice”.
